How long do we keep your data?
Tymit will only keep personal data for as long as necessary, for the purposes for which it was gained and only where we continue to have a legal basis for doing so. We will review the personal data we hold for our customers in line with this storage and retention policy, to check for accuracy and relevancy and to ensure we continue to have a legal basis for processing.
If the personal data is no longer necessary, or where we no longer have the legal basis for processing, we will delete or fully anonymise the data we hold for a customer, in line with our Data Protection Policy. If customer data becomes inaccurate, Tymit will update it accordingly.
Otherwise, Tymit will retain personal data for the following periods:
| Product / Process Name | Retention Period |
|---|---|
| Tymit Credit Accounts | Retention Period of 6 years from the termination of the contract to which customer is a party |
| All declined applications | Retention Period of 6 years from date at which customer is informed of our decision to decline their application. We will cease contact 1 year after customer is informed of our decision |
| All approved applications that have not progressed to contract | Retention Period of 6 years from date at which customer is informed of our decision to approve their application. We will cease contact 1 year after customer is informed of our decision |
Data Deletion
Tymit will periodically review its data stores to ensure any data held is necessary, relevant to the purposes for which it was collected, and is still being used for the purposes it was intended. Data will be deleted or anonymised in circumstances where it is found continuing to hold it is excessive or unnecessary, or if the record has reached the end of its retention period.
Deleting data will mean removing all traces of the data from the system or data file in which it is held, placing it in an ‘irretrievable’ state.
